Liaocheng city development, China
The goal of the project is to design and demonstrate an active zero emission in LIAOCHENG, meeting existing local needs of that region.
The city is currently undergoing a significant development extension and the master plans is being developed for an area of 2,5 km2 in the City.
Project Overview:
The overall project will cover :
1. Feasibility study; with consultation, resource assessment, financial analysis
2. Conceptual design with the selection of (sustainable) energy technologies
3. Modelling and simulation
4. Construction
5. Monitoring and follow-up
The project will demonstrate the economic feasibility of smart investments into renewable energy concepts. Investments should not only be done to be environmental friendly but especially because of financial savings on the life time of the use of the building or infrastructure.
Using the heat / cooling out of the underground, is an investment that can have a payback period of 5 years. Using the heat of the street and store it under the ground can have a very short payback time.
Using the waste of households and transform it into energy is a possibility that will generate electricity and can have a very sustainable solution from different points of view.
Chinese policy:
New policy of the government in China is to support the choise for sustainable solutions. Different organisations support the financing of the extra financing. Anyhow the value of the house (residential area with f.e. renewable energy networks) will value more because the price of the use will cost less in the future.
The local government and the city authorities of Liaocheng should support the new solutions in which energy savings, energy generation and environmental profit is combined.
